The Importance of Removing Dead Branches from Avocado Trees 🌿
Dead or dry branches pose a serious threat to the health of avocado trees. If not removed, they can become a major source of infectious diseases, hinder growth, and significantly reduce productivity.
While it’s possible to prune dead branches at any time of the year, the ideal period is between November and December, when the tree is less stressed and recovery is faster.
Common causes of branch death include:
-
Limited sunlight exposure (shaded areas)
-
Infestation by ambrosia beetles
-
Sunburn damage
Regular maintenance like this is key to sustaining a healthy and high-yield avocado farm.
